The piece
Earth Rest sings from low in the ground: a solo cello carries a deep, slow melody while a double bass walks gently underneath in pizzicato and a soft felt piano holds the harmony.
Three slow minutes to put the day down, loosen your shoulders and let your body rest. It opens Solfeggio · Strings: the nine Solfeggio frequencies, one composition for each, each with its own lead instrument.
The Solfeggio tradition treats 174 Hz as the frequency of the Earth: grounding, easing tension and deep rest, linked to the root of the body and the feeling of being safe. It is the lowest of the nine tones, the foundation the other eight are built on.
About the genre terms. “Easing tension” and “deep rest” are intentions from the Solfeggio tradition, not therapeutic effects: this music does not treat any health condition.
